Faculty of Dentistry of Irkutsk State Medical University was opened in 1936.
After the graduation from the Medical University, the student receives a medical doctor qualification, majoring in “Dentistry”.
The faculty of Irkutsk State Medical University prepares students to work in such a sphere of healthcare as dentistry, providing further opportunity to work in dental clinics.
A graduate, after completion of the compulsory internship program majoring in “Dentistry”, can work as a general practice dentist. After the completion of the internship, a graduate can continue his/her education at the residency and get one of the following degrees: dentist-therapist, dentist-surgeon, dentist-orthopedist, dentist-orthodontist, a pediatric dentist.
The enrollment status includes full-time studies, the duration of which is 5 years plus 1 year of internship. The educational process at the faculty of dentistry is carried out in accordance with state standards and is based on the following system: general education, biomedical and clinical disciplines.
Qualified professional training carried out by the faculty is provided by the operational excellence of the higher-education teaching personnel. At the dentistry faculty of Irkutsk State, Medical University works 12 professors and academics, the overall rate of candidate and doctor of science degrees comprises 90%.
